The pioneer behind some of the earliest aluminum eyewear brands, Ken Wilson, has secured $4.3M in pre-seed funding for his latest venture, Fast Metal, LLC. The Yuma, Arizona-based company, which crafts premium aluminum sunglass frames from high-grade alloys, attracted investment from New Climate Ventures, Azolla Ventures, Humba Ventures, Astor Swiss, Rio Tinto, and Founders Factory.
Wilson, who previously founded Gatorz and Liquid Eyewear, started Fast Metal from his garage. His new company builds on decades of expertise, developing high-impact resistant eyewear that meets military specifications and features the industry's first interchangeable lens system for aluminum sunglasses.
